Do your Target Audience Unplug from the Digital World for Time with Print?

In today’s society advertisements, friends and employers can reach you no matter where you are and at any time. Because of this more and more people are choosing to disconnect themselves from digital media at various points in their day or regularly throughout the week, especially at weekends.

Turning off phones, TV’s and computers is now generally considered as relaxing well-earned down time. In the place of digital appliances customers are picking up more Books, magazines, newsletters, brochures and other printed content to fill this gap. By association these products are then linked with the same positive frame of mind the customer is hoping to achieve when they unplug.

It’s not a great leap of faith to realise that customers will be most receptive to your call to action message when they are relaxed in their own homes so don’t rule out printed leaflets, loyalty newsletters, brochures or any printed promotional products just yet.

Please feel free to browse for quantities and prices on any of the above printed products at www.quickprint.co.uk.

Print has a Greater Perceived Value than Digital

Print marketing or advertising is often referred to as `traditional’. Though print came before digital marketing it is by no means the traditional options anymore. Blogging, Social Media & Electronic Mail shots are much more frequently used these days and therefore have a much lower perceived value.

Print is generally thought of as a more expensive option than Digital therefore if a company is investing in a print campaign it’s perceived that it must be a good cause or that they value their customers more than their competitors who only send Digital literature. Customers are also more likely to find value in something that is a tangible object as opposed to digital.

Print houses like Quick Print also offer a variety of options that will help promote your organisation as a green company. Though you are still using paper you could choose ethically sourced paper from managed forests or opt for recycled paper and even vegetable based inks. All of these nuggets of information can be included in your campaigns to help bolster your image as an organisation with a conscience.

GSM and Microns
Board thickness or caliper is measured in microns (1000 microns = 1mm).  Most of the time boards are refered to by weight in gsm (grams per square metre).  A few different board weights are shown below along with their thickness in microns.

160gsm = 200 microns
180gsm = 230 microns
240gsm = 300 microns
270gsm = 350 microns
290gsm = 380 microns
385gsm = 500 microns

Storage
Paper is liable to be affected by variations in temperature and humidity.  The optimum storage conditions are a temperature of 16ºC – 22ºC and relative humidity (the moisture content of the air) of 40% – 60%.  Variations in humidity are the most serious and can, by changing the moisture content of the stationery, permanently damage it.

Stationery transferred from a cold room to a warm room can experience a temporary warp.  Sufficient time should be allowed for it to become acclimatised before being used.

All printed stationery should be kept in the original boxes until required for use.  The boxes should be stored lid uppermost and should not be stacked more than five high.  Any partly used box should be placed as the top box.

Stationery should not be stored directly touching the floor and should be kept away from pipes, radiators, hot air ducts, windows or such like.

How Best to Use Large Exhibition Banners

When attending a conference or exhibition, you should have a team of staff with you who will be engaging passers by, asking questions and supplying information. But you have the potential to grab attention with the wall space behind your stand, where your pop-up banners and posters will be placed, and you don’t want to waste this space by having it do the *same thing* that your staff are doing.

While your team are supplying details, your banners should be shouting – shouting about something amazing that will make passers-by want to stop and get more information. The first thing you need to identify is your target audience – who will be at this show and what will be their biggest need that your business can provide? Addressing their biggest pain (ie: “Is your print marketing tired and disorganised?” “Are you always running out of letter-heads and business cards?”) can be a major hook to grab attention, and your team can then be prepared with answers and literature on exactly how you can solve these issues (Ie: “We’ll give you a complete print refresh for this price” or “We’ll schedule regular refills and reprints to suit your needs”)

You could also take the opportunity to make a big big impact with your best points – do you offer discounts for new customers? Do you offer free delivery in a sector where virtually no-one else does? Do you offer a price match guarantee? Have you won awards for your work? What do you do that will make people turn around and come and say hello?

Above all, don’t use your banner as another team member – you have those already and they will be supplying details. Use your banner as an attention-grabber, a big, bright call to action – get those passers-by paying attention and then tell them what you can do!

The Importance of Branded Stationary

Most companies rarely consider the importance of printed stationery and the important roll it has to play in promoting your company. Not only does it identify your business, but it can also be a very effective marketing tool as it injects professionalism into your brand Image.

Establishing Trust, professionalism, confidence and advocacy are an important part of attracting and maintaining clients. Printed stationery such as Letter Headed Paper, Company Literature, Folders, Business Cards, Pens and even Coasters will help establish these ideals. Printed stationery in many cases will be the first impression a client has of your company but more importantly once you’ve left that crucial meeting it will have to do the talking for you.

Instead of seeing stationery as a standard office expense include it in your marketing budget and discuss your options in the same way you would a promotional marketing campaign. At QuickPrint we can print onto almost anything so if you have an idea, don’t be afraid to approach us about it. Together we can increase your company’s public visibility and perception of your brand image.

Promoting your Brand or Company with Printed T-Shirts & Workwear

Promoting your Brand or Company with Printed T-Shirts & Workwear

Your staff and employees are valuable assets to your company for many obvious reasons but they’re rarely used to physically promote or advertise brands. Printed T-shirts and Workwear are a great way to utilise this undervalued and underused resource.

Printed T-shirts and Workwear can help associate your staff and their good work with your company or brand. By association they can help inspire positive advocacy through customers, families or even passed byers. They can even be used to promote special offers, seasonal events, or  campaigns. Below are some examples of when Printed Workwear will be most effective.

Events – At a large event or conference it can be difficult to spot a member of staff when customers want to make a purchase or ask for more information. Make your staff stand out with a plain T-shirt or Polo in a single bold colour. Have a large logo on their back and a smaller one on the right of their chest. Keeping the detail simple will allow people to spot your staff quickly.

Mobile Staff –Contractors and other mobile staff are representing your company when they’re outside of the office. A great way to make sure they’re doing this respectfully is to give them a standard printed uniform. Clients and customers will recognise them instantly and in the summer months you can make sure there are additional garments to hand for those great occasions when England actually gets hot weather. Including contact details on the back of the garment is a great way to encourage more enquiries.

Retail Sales –Staff on a shop floor can also be difficult to spot if they don’t have a set uniform. This is even more relevant when you’re in sale mode. Why not kit your staff out with red and white printed workwear with examples of special offers printed on their backs. You could promote a percentage off, individual deals or a prominent brand you sell.  Printed workwear however will always be more cost effective if you don’t have too many variants.

Promotional Products – Instead of getting your staff to wear your printed t-shirts why not hand them out as a promotional product for customers. Everytime a customer spends a set amount in store they get a free t-shirt. Be sure to get a selection of sizes and make sure the fit and message on the T-shirt is relevant to your business. If you’ve do it right you will soon see customers advertising your brand down your local high-street.  Parents will always be happy for additional plain t-shirts for their children.

Can Printing & Large Scale Printing be Environmentally Friendly?

Print marketing is, and will likely always be, a big part of business marketing. Finding ways to reduce the impact on the environment is crucial, and things are being done all the time to lessen this effect.
Large scale and mass printing are perhaps the most efficient (and therefore eco friendly in many ways) of all printing, as machines are not stopping and starting, less time is taken cutting, re-allotting inks, and so energy is saved.
Recycled printing material is also a big move towards cutting down on paper usage, and these days recycled white is truly white, and high quality paper and printing can be achieved at a similar if not equal cost to regular paper.
Products being delivered through regular postal channels is a great help, as vehicle use can be cut down and emissions reduced.
Here at QuickPrint we continually stive to improve our eco-friendly options, using cultured toner which is grown rather than manufactured in our digital print machines and vegetable inks in our litho print room where appropriate.
Check out our recycled print options or our environmentally friendly statement for more information.
